Gratitude Project: fabulous girly day out…

So, this yesterday’s gratitude post today! Just catching up.

Anyway, yesterday morning, bright and early (9.00am) I met my lovely friend Deniz and we headed out for a morning excursion. It was beautiful. It was amazing. It was delicious. We started out taking a bus along the Bosphorus, heading north, and got off after Bebek (I hope I’m getting this right!). We went to an amazing restaurant near the water, with a big open terrace and ate a beautiful Turkish breakfast and chatted about life. We also made friends with a few little birds who kept landing on our table to eat crumbs of bread, and unfortunately, with a couple of bees who just wouldn’t take no for an answer. So, eventually, we moved on.

Next was a seaside walk in the sun, sitting in a leafy park near a marina and more chatting. Followed by Turkish ice cream from the tiniest ice cream shop you’ll ever see. I forget the name of the place, but Deniz said it’s known as one of the best ice cream shops in the city and they make all their own ice cream daily and use fresh fruits, etc. De-lish.

We enjoyed lovely views, some crazy hot humid weather, and did a good bit of walking. Overall, a great morning. I hated to head back to Besiktas for work after such fun! It was nice to have a girly day and have a good chat. It was much needed.

So, I’m incredibly grateful for such a fantastic morning and such a great friend to share it with! Thanks Deniz!
